C++ Developer - Linux

  • Solid understanding of Internet platforms and protocols
  • Strong basic programming skills: data structures, algorithms, boolean logic, templates, OO design
  • Experience developing and debugging C++ Linux server applications
  • Experience with Linux software packaging, installation, and distribution
  • Experience with shell scripting and Linux administration
  • Experience with one or more of these technologies: wxWidgets, sqlite, FUSE, embedded Linux
  • Experience doing real development with at least one other programming language

 

Hiring FAQ

Where is your office located in Atlanta?
We are located just off I85 in Suwanee, near the Gwinnett Center and a short commute from both downtown and Perimeter.


What are your offices like?
We want Jungle Disk to be somewhere employees enjoy coming to work each day. Our offices have hardwood floors, high ceilings, and lots of natural light. Developers all have large desks, multiple monitors, and comfortable chairs.


Will you consider remote workers / telecommuting?
Telecommuting may be considered in limited circumstances, however given the fast moving nature of a startup environment we prefer local employees.


Why do you require experience with other programming languages?
More than any specific experience, the most important trait in a developer at a startup is versatility. Experience developing software with multiple languages is one of the best indicators of a versatile developer.


Do you require a CS degree for the development positions?
No, but it helps.


Do you require a certain number of years of experience?
Relevant experience is more important than total years. We're looking to hire both junior and senior developers. The ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges is even more important.
