Our guest this week was David Schulz, executive director at Cyber Risk Associates.
This past Saturday, October 29, the sixth episode of Cyber Talk Radio hit the airwaves on 1200 WOAI and iHeartRadio streaming.
This last Saturday, David Schulz joined us for episode 6 to discuss healthcare security awareness, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act(HIPAA) and potential cyber risks for small businesses.
When it comes to healthcare security and cyber risk, everyone has skin in the game. Unfortunately, for healthcare related small businesses, lack of security awareness is the #1 reason for a data breach or cyberattack. This can be detrimental to their business’ future.
In the second half of the segment, David and I will give recommendations on educational resources for businesses and walk through an examples healthcare cyber risk assessment. Assessments are important to conduct as you can determine how much cyber risk may be inside your business. We highly recommend that all businesses to take an assessment if they haven’t already! David also goes over ways to assess keeping proper cyber hygiene including network security updates, anti-virus updates, system patches, data encryption, segregated WiFi networks, etc.
