You have your own company and want to make sure that you are set up with the latest and greatest technology and software but do not know where to start. What do you do? Well, there are a bunch of things that you need to consider such as email, storage, online presence, data security, collaboration, etc. Jungle Disk can help in several of these areas. This month, Jungle Disk was able to sponsor and speak at a lunch and learn at the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in San Antonio. The event had several local small businesses and nonprofits join to discuss products that may help them evolve, increase productivity and become more secure. We talked about Microsoft Office 365 and G Suite to explain how moving to a cloud-based solution can benefit them in productivity and cost as well as how incorporating Jungle Disk products to ensure their data is protected. There were an array of great questions that I thought would be beneficial to more small/medium businesses.
Using Office 365 or G Suite through Jungle Disk will give you all the online productivity tools (file sharing, storage, instant messaging, etc.) you may need combined with our support. Jungle Disk can help if you already have a domain that you would like to have email on or already have email but want to move to one of these online suites. This is key especially if you do not have the time to sit on the phone with either of these companies to help you accomplish a simple task such as finding where certain settings are.. Using a productivity suite such as Office 365 or G Suite is great but they are still just storage solutions. Rather than saving files to your computer, you are saving them to the cloud. That is still your only copy. What would happen if someone gained access to it or blocked you from having access to it? It is always a great practice to backup your data so you have a safe, second copy of everything in the event you need it. Just like insurance, you never know when you will need it!
You have your email and storage set up with backups just in case something happens. But why risk having an intruder even coming in at all? I like to think of this like being in your house but leaving all doors and windows unlocked. You want to make sure you prevent access as much as you can.
The cloud is growing everyday. More and more companies are moving to these online productivity suites because of the various services that you get in one suite. You don’t have to spend days or weeks trying to figure out what you want to use and try to incorporate it within your organization. You already have everything packaged for you.
