The Internet, and the security needs of the people that use it, change rapidly. Along with that, your operating system and installed software need to be updated more and more frequently to keep up with the latest cybersecurity trends. It’s always a good habit to check for pending Windows and software updates.
Recently, Jungle Disk released several updates to our software, and we very much encourage every single user to update! We commonly see customers running versions of our software several years old. While it may be convenient to press the “ignore” button every time a new update comes out for software you use every day, it’s really important to do the needful. Along with every update comes new features, less bugs, and better performance.
We’ve made it very easy for Jungle Disk customers to see which machines are running old versions remotely. You can simply log into your account at secure.jungledisk.com and then follow this link to see which computers on your account have Jungle Disk installed, including IP addresses and computer names.
To find out what your IP address is, you can simply Google “what’s my IP?” and Google will do the rest. To find out your computer name on Windows, you can type in “about” in your Start Menu search and click on “About this PC.” On a Mac, open Spotlight and search for “System Preferences,” then click “Sharing” to see your computer’s name.
Once you’ve identified the machines that need updating, updating the software is super simple!
A guide for updating your software on Windows is here.
And the update guide for Mac and Linux is here.
