Behind the Scenes at Jungle Disk - Hiring Great Teammates
Hi, my name’s Amanda Sanchez, I’ve been leading our customer support team for a little over four years now. In 2016, we have doubled the size of our support team! The way I look at it is that these folks aren’t my employees, they are my teammates. When I look for new teammates to hire, there are a lot of things that go into making a hiring decision. This would be a really long post if I went into them all. Ultimately, if I can hire someone who truly has the three qualities below, I nailed it! The technical aspects and intricacies of the job can be taught after the fact.
Motivated Individual: Someone who is driven to go above and beyond. Who is focused and has great confidence in their own abilities.

“The will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach your full potential… These are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence.” –Confucius

Team Player: Someone who makes an individual commitment to a group effort and works towards a common goal.

“Great things in business are never done by one person. They’re done by a team of people.” - Steve Jobs

I agree with that statement wholeheartedly. For example, look at the San Antonio Spurs. It isn’t just one individual player that wins a game or championship, the talents of each player compliment each other and makes a damn good combination and TEAM.

Positive Thinker with a Positive Attitude: Someone who expects positive results, encourage others and gives others the benefit of the doubt. Positivity is contagious, negativity is infectious.
The three qualities above make a well rounded teammate, in my opinion. Also, it’s a no brainer that they must be passionate about customer service and doing the right thing for each customer. At Jungle Disk, we don’t take that lightly. Remember above when I said we doubled the size of our support team this year? Each one of them exhibits the qualities mentioned above and have turned out to be strong performers. If you ever need to reach out to our support team, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by your experience!
Good luck finding your next teammate!
