Security Check by Christina Weaver Dec 6, 2017 Cyber Safety Travel Tips Don’t Give a Hacker the Gift of Your Identity for the Holidays In the midst of the holiday travel season, it is important to keep in mind some basic tips to stay safe from hackers and cyber thieves. We are all glued to our Internet-enabled devices while we travel whether its via car, plane, train or your transportation of choice. The United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) posted the below tips to keep in mind. The US-CERT advises that, “Your smart phone, tablet, or other device is a full-fledged computer. It is susceptible to risks inherent in online transactions. When shopping, banking, or sharing personal information online, take the same precautions with your smart phone or other device that you do with your personal computer — and then some. The mobile nature of these devices means that you should also take precautions for the physical security of your device and consider the way you are accessing the Internet.
